Breaks compatibility
  • The world was made again, on the same seed: the Safe Zone is humanity's last stronghold now, and nothing hostile stands in it.
  • Dungeons, arenas and camps all stand past the wall; no one lives in villages there, only their ruins.
  • Oil comes only from seeps: a few wells past the wall, infinite but slow, with a weekly limit. Whoever holds one pumps it.
  • Trains run on diesel or gasoline and nothing else.
  • Crude splits into five fractions; filters, better ammunition, grease and train tanks are made from them.
  • Past the Hush a scrubber burns fuel as well as filters.

The client has to be updatedThis release changed the pack, and a client older than it is turned away at the door. Update the pack in the launcher before you next join.

The world

  • Every structure is either peaceful and at home, or hostile and past the wall in the layer its world fits. Villages stand only in the Safe Zone.
  • Structures at home are fewer and no longer stand inside one another.
  • Dead trees no longer stand on water, and the edges of Maria's plates are slopes rather than boxes.

Seeps

  • Thirteen seeps from Maria to Xendar, and one at the Heart. A pumpjack works only over a seep; everywhere else there is no oil.
  • A seep refills at a steady flow up to a few hours of pressure, and gives no more than its weekly limit. A bigger plant pumps faster, up to the flow.
  • A seep appears on the Polis map once somebody who stood on it is back behind the wall. Every week the registry prints how much each seep gave, never who took it.

Oil in use

  • Trains need diesel or gasoline; no solid fuel, lava or biofuel moves one. Handcars still need nothing.
  • The distillation tower now needs six levels and gives diesel, gasoline, lamp oil, naphtha and bitumen. Towers built before this stop until they are made taller.
  • Paraffin, activated carbon, plastic, fibre, sealant and lubricant are made from the fractions; yellow and black filters, four advanced rounds, suit grease and the train fuel tank use them. Pale filters and copper rounds need no oil.
  • Biofuels are half as strong and never heat a burner; cobblestone no longer ferments into lava; asphalt is gone.
