What changed in Polis

Every release of the mod, newest first: what changed for the player, and whether the client has to be updated. The notes come from the mod's own repository, so this page cannot drift from what was built.

  1. Version 0.3.0

    Breaks compatibility
    • The Polis window opens on a new key — P went back to vanilla social interactions.
    • What the registry says to you personally now reaches you in Discord, even when you are not in the game.
    • Chat, the player list and the nameplates now say who is who.
    • The market fee is counted per order rather than per settlement: splitting a purchase no longer pays.
    • Selling ground settles its arrears out of the price first.
    • The watch records fire and fluid from what actually happened in the world, not from where a click landed.

The client has to be updatedThis release changed the pack, and a client older than it is turned away at the door. Update the pack in the launcher before you next join.

  2. Version 0.2.1

    New abilities
    • A Guide inside the Polis window: rules, prices and deadlines, read from the code that enforces them.
    • The section rail folds, instead of taking half a small window.
    • Enclosed ground always has a way out, and one cannot be manufactured.
  3. Version 0.2.0

    New abilities
    • Polis is now built for Minecraft 1.20.1 on Forge as well — the same mod, a separate file.
    • Linking an account through Discord: /link ties the game to Discord.
  4. Version 0.1.0

    New abilities
    • The first release of Polis: a land register, money, a market, contracts and a court, all inside the game.
    • A map that remembers: who holds what, where the lines run, and what was done on your ground while you were away.
    • Roads their holder charges for, and borders you can read standing on the ground.
    • The registry records and never prevents: a closed border shows a wall you can walk through.
