Version 0.24.0

Breaks compatibility
  • A tap is held by a wellhead and a seal fed with lubricant; nobody owns a seep, and a tap is taken by cutting the seal, loudly, for half an hour.
  • Oil is heavy in every form: a full drum weighs a thousand and does not stack, and a loaded mule, chest boat or cart slows down. The road home is the railway and the pipe.
  • An oil terminal by the wall counts the oil that really came home, and only that oil counts for the haulers' roll.
  • A killing past the wall makes the killer a renegade who owes nothing: the hunt, the cells and the bounty stay, the fine does not.
  • Contracts gain a ceasefire and a guard; a well log is a crew's own witness, filed as paper at home.
  • Seep sites stand on the ground now, in four designs by layer; When Dungeons Arise and Immersive Armors are gone, Spartan Shields is in.

The full list of changes

Holding a tap

  • A pumpjack draws only through a wellhead on its tap, set by the side that holds it.
  • A seal fed with lubricant by hand is hard: it can only be cut. Left unfed long enough it goes slack and breaks in any hand.
  • A new or taken seal is soft for its first hours and cuts in minutes.
  • A cutting torch burns a drum of gasoline and needs half an hour of work; the wellhead smokes and is heard far off while it runs. The holders feeding the seal, a cutter dying or walking off resets it.
  • Every tap has its own part of the seep's week, and one wild throat per seep draws a small share for anybody.
  • A side holds two hard seals for every seasoned member who played this week; fresh accounts seal soft only.
  • The guide's new page, Holding a tap, gives every figure.

Heavy oil

  • A full drum weighs a thousand and stacks to one; oil in a bucket, canister or backpack tank weighs the same per bucket.
  • A loaded donkey, mule, llama, chest boat or cart slows down, and so does a mount carrying a rider's heavy pockets. A horse with no load stays fast.
  • What is on a lead weighs on whoever holds the lead.
  • Full drums ride a sledge or a litter as freight. The ExoSuit and the tower shields weigh for real.

The road home

  • An oil terminal on the Safe side near the wall counts oil handed in, by hand or by funnel, and gives it back to the hauler's storage.
  • The week's oil that crossed the line is on the oil board and in the gazette; the haulers' roll counts only terminal oil.
  • A pipeline meter counts oil through it and files its readings as paper; the oil board shows a pipeline's in and out.
  • The guide's new page, The road home, and a new quest chapter cover tank trains and pipelines.

Custody and killing past the wall

  • Past the wall the register takes no goods: no sell order, no delivery handed over and no withdrawal there, and anything it hands you lands in your storage instead.
  • A killing past the wall marks the killer with no debt; the victim still sees the killer's cell while the mark stands.
  • With Hardcore Revival, a knockout by a player is the killing, so logging out while the victim bleeds hides nothing; self-defence lasts three minutes.

Contracts and records

  • A ceasefire term: one side kills nobody of another's until its deadline, on a deposit that goes to the wronged side at the first killing. Add a payment and it is tribute.
  • A guard term: a side pays its guard if its wellheads at a seep drew a figure that week.
  • A well log beside a wellhead records breaks, cuts, feeds, killings and opened containers; its extract is filed at home.

The world

  • Seep sites are measured before they are laid and stand on their own ground: a raised plume, a wellsite compound, a trestle over the sea and a burning crater.
  • The Ash's surface is a whole block, so the dead no longer hop on it.
  • When Dungeons Arise and Immersive Armors are removed; Spartan Shields adds wooden and iron shields and tower shields, which stop a bullet.
  • The world is made again on the same seed.
