Version 0.30.0

Breaks compatibility

The client has to be updatedThis release changed the pack, and a client older than it is turned away at the door. Update the pack in the launcher before you next join.

  • A contract no longer breaks while you are away: a deadline starts when you next log in, three days at the latest.
  • The council works with only a few players: silence counts as an answer, and the Assembly votes when judges are short.
  • Your land has an activity log: who broke, placed or took what, including machines, fire and water.
  • Hold I to see a block's history, and restore blocks others changed on your land.
  • Warnings reach you when you are away: a summary on login, and reminders in Discord too.
The full list of changes

Contracts

  • A deadline starts when the person who owes logs in, not when the last signature lands. If they stay away, it starts after three days anyway.
  • A draft shows every deadline, and the signature that puts a contract in force asks you to confirm what you owe.
  • A term gives at least 30 minutes, and a signature counts for three days.
  • The one owed can waive a term, and all sides together can call a contract off. Deposits and pledged land go back.
  • A city or company can pay its terms automatically from the treasury.

Council and complaints

  • The accused gets a day to answer, counted from when they next log in.
  • If the accused saw the complaint in the game and did not press Dispute the complaint, the record decides it.
  • When too few judges can hear a case, every active player with no side in it may vote: the Assembly.
  • A complaint nobody can hear yet goes on hold for up to 30 days instead of lapsing.
  • The number of judges and reapers follows how many people play here.
  • Exile is still a ban, now reachable on a small server: 2 to 5 votes, depending on how many play.

Your land

  • The Land section has an Activity log: one card per visit, with what was taken or broken, filters and days.
  • Machines, pets, fire, flowing water and lava, hoppers and Create contraptions are recorded too.
  • Hold I and look at a block or chest to see who touched it.
  • Restore puts back blocks others changed on your land. Chests come back empty.
  • You can bring a complaint for real damage on open land too.
  • A stranger doing harm on your land is told to you in chat at once, with a summary in Notifications when they leave.

Land, roads and groups

  • Land in arrears falls derelict only after its holders have spent six hours in the game with the debt, or after three weeks.
  • Derelict land can be taken a day later, and its former holders have three days to fetch their things.
  • If a holder closes their land while you stand on it, you may leave without it counting as trespass.
  • The role that acts for a group is now called steward. If an owner stays away for 30 days, the senior steward can take the group over.
  • Homesteads may charge tolls again, and a group may disband while a complaint is open.

Renegades and the hunt

  • Only a reaper or the person killed can end a hunt. Any other death costs only what the renegade carried.
  • A bounty goes only to a reaper or the person killed, and otherwise back to those who put it up.
  • A killer can say they were provoked, and the council decides.
  • A hunt's clock now stops while the server restarts.

Notices and money

  • On login one line says what waits on you and the nearest deadline.
  • Important notices stay in Notifications longest, and repeats within an hour fold into one.
  • One player can send you at most eight notices an hour.
  • Votes, vouches and market prices count only players who really play here.
  • This version needs the new pack: update your client before joining.
