Version 0.5.0

New abilities
  • The Polis window now reads at the largest GUI scale: no names cut to three letters, no text over the buttons.
  • The Polis window has a size of its own - the − and + tiles in its header, or Ctrl with +, − and 0, whatever the game's scale.
  • On a narrow screen a list and its page take turns, with a Back button.
  • Anything shortened can be read in full - rest the cursor on it, and a button's label scrolls to show its end.
  • The strip above the hotbar and the money notices wrap to a second line instead of cutting off.
The full list of changes

Large GUI scale

  • The window was checked at the sizes people with poor sight actually play at: 1080p, 1440p and 4K at the largest scale, not only at the smallest window.
  • On a narrow window the side rail folds to its icons by itself. Fold or unfold it by hand and that choice is kept.
  • Contracts, the registry, bodies, the court and the guide show the list first and then the page with a Back button on a narrow screen. Esc and Backspace go back too.
  • On a narrow screen the land panel opens across the whole map instead of as a strip beside a tiny one.

The Polis window's size

  • The window's header has − and + tiles, and Ctrl with + and − does the same. Ctrl+0 goes back to the game's scale.
  • The size is remembered and applies to the Polis window alone: the hotbar and the rest of the game keep their own scale.

Text

  • Names, contract terms, day-book entries, statement lines, notices and evidence wrap onto more lines instead of ending in dots.
  • Where text is still shortened, rest the cursor on it and it is shown in full. A button's label scrolls while the cursor is on it.
  • A case page in the court and a plot page on the map scroll instead of quietly dropping what did not fit.
  • Explanations in dialogs no longer run over their buttons, and a dialog's buttons move to two rows when one will not hold them.
  • The strip above the hotbar and the money notices wrap to a second line rather than stopping mid-sentence.
