Version 0.32.0

Breaks compatibility

The client has to be updatedThis release changed the pack, and a client older than it is turned away at the door. Update the pack in the launcher before you next join.

  • Combat is new: every blow rolls its damage, lands on the head, torso, arms or legs, and has to get through the armour there.
  • Armour has five classes, and a weapon's penetration is read against the same number: the tooltip says what a piece stops.
  • Guns from 1880 to 1918: Scorched Guns and a First World War set, each round with its own force.
  • Everything has a real weight now: a pistol is light, a machine gun is not, and every tooltip says what a thing weighs.
  • Update the pack: it now includes Spartan Weaponry and Simply Swords.
The full list of changes

The fight

  • A blow rolls its damage around the weapon's figure, and the tooltip shows the range.
  • The head and the back take more, the limbs less, and a target who cannot defend takes more.
  • Daggers, swords, axes, maces, polearms and heavy weapons cut, thrust or crush, and each meets armour differently.
  • Hold the arts key for a weapon's techniques; guard and parry with a blade, and a parry opens the attacker up.
  • Monsters may use magic and players may not: every staff, totem and summoning thing stays with the monster.

Armour

  • Cloth, mail, steel, a cuirass and plate are classes 0 to 4, and each shows its protection in the tooltip.
  • A blow whose penetration equals the protection goes through half the time; far above, always; far below, never.
  • Armour wears where it is struck, and worn armour protects less: the tooltip shows how much is left.
  • The armour already in the pack is fitted to the classes, and none of it casts anything.

Guns

  • The round decides the force, not the gun: two rifles firing the same round hit the same.
  • Guns wear and can jam as they wear; an armourer's kit mends them in the field.
  • A rifle round goes through steel that stops a pistol round.

Steel, quality and repair

  • A made weapon or piece of armour carries a stamp: its grade, its maker and how it was made.
  • A table, a Create works line and a quench make different grades; the guide shows the bands.
  • A whetstone mends a blade and an armourer's kit mends armour, and each repair lowers the most it can hold.
  • Gear breaks down into scrap at the crushing wheels, never back into whole ingots.
  • Nine named blades exist, one of each in the world, given out by the first time something happens.

Weight

  • Every item weighs something, and its tooltip says how much.
  • Kit weighs what the real thing does; blocks weigh by what they are made of and how much of a block they are.
  • A rifleman in iron armour still sprints; a backpack of stone does not.

Loot and the market

  • Gear lies at its depth: better steel, heavier armour and better guns only come out of deeper boxes.
  • Safe Zone boxes no longer hold diamond or netherite gear.
  • A weapon, a gun or a piece of armour with a stamp is sold as a lot on the market, whole, at the seller's price.
  • Relics of other worlds are found in Dark Zone caches, plainer near the wall and stranger deeper in.

The guide and the book

  • The guide has pages on weapons, armour, guns, quality, weight, builds and the named blades.
  • The quest book has a chapter, Steel and powder.
  • Spartan Weaponry, Simply Swords, Born in Chaos and the other new mods speak Ukrainian, and what cannot be made is out of the creative tabs.
